Pick to pallet system (PPS)
The pick to pallet system (PPS) is an evolution of the automatic refilled system (ARS). The advantage of the pick to pallet system (PPS) is an extremely flexibility and the not necessarily connection to a system of automated storage.
The operator in charge of picking (through the warehouse management system- WMS) picks up the packages directly from the pallets stored in static positions and/or picking bays preparing pallets customer on board his truck. Having the ability to quickly replace the pallets relative to the codes of medium and low rotation, the pick to pallet system (PPS) combines the advantages of man-to-goods with those commodity-man systems.
The pick to pallet system (PPS) applies when application volumes picking and the number of managed codes (SKUs) are medium-high and/or time-varying and where the taking is particularly fragmented.
Key points of the pick to pallet system (PPS):
- Automatic configuration of the system as a function of the number of codes to manage;
- Automatic configuration of the system according to the frequency of use;
- Saving of labor up to a 30%;
- Reduction of the space occupied.
